Musical Director

Jake Alexander is a composer, choir director, singer and multi-instrumentalist from St Ives, Cornwall. He arranges most of the choir’s music, and occasionally accompanies the group on guitar, ukulele or percussion.

In addition to leading Quaggy Community Choir, Jake conducts Raised Voices, a protest choir based in North London, KT6, an a cappella choir from Surbiton, Greenwich Foundation Choir, the workplace choir of the Old Royal Naval College, and is the co-founder of Crib Notes, a daytime parents’ choir.

Jake performs extensively on the electric cello, and has written and recorded music for a wide variety of projects, incorporating radio, theatre and contemporary dance. He is the musical director of Dancing Strong, a company that specialises in choreographing work for young audiences, and he forms one half of alt-folk duo, The Sea Kings.

Choir Manager

Priya Bose is a violin player, performing with Blackheath Halls Orchestra and London Contemporary Chamber Orchestra.

She has also performed with a number of bands including The Fictive Kinship, a six-piece South London based alt-folk band. Priya holds a Certificate in Music Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London.

Priya is passionate about the therapeutic, social and cultural benefits of singing and collective music making.

Priya is the one to go to with practical questions. She also sings with the choir and can’t wait to sing with you.
